The purpose of this three-hour course was to fulfil part of FAA & TSA annual training requirements for Flight Attendants at American Airlines. This is an annual course that I had the privilege of building every year from roughly 2006-2013 and I consulted briefly for the 2014 year.
This course has always been one of my favourite programs to develop. It features some of my most cutting-edge functions such as “speed bump” technology. This is a new feature which monitors the progress of the learner through the material. The course can detect when the user is just “clicking the next button” to speed through the content. When the program detects this sort of behaviour, we introduce knowledge check activities focused on the critical points which the learner possibly overlooked. These knowledge checks do not appear for learners who are reading and interacting with the material in a manner which indicates they are paying attention. This is why I call it a “speed bump.”
